The 8 Section Brocade

Renowned for its Simplicity and Effectiveness

The Ba Duan Jin serves as a fundamental practice in the pursuit of overall health and wellness with its power to calm and heal the mind, body, and spirit.

It is a series of 8 Qigong exercises that stimulate the flow of Qi throughout the body and the meridians, while building strength and mobility of the muscles and tendons.

“Ba” means eight, “Duan” means section, and “Jin” refers to a brocade, which is a rich fabric, usually silk, woven with an elaborate design.  It was given its name because the eight exercises are graceful and have a rich set of benefits specifically woven into each movement.

This set of Qigong exercises was deemed by the ancients to be one of their favorite techniques of exercising due to its uncomplicated and elegant nature.

These movements are relatively simple and can be practiced anywhere at anytime. It is also easy to learn, easy to remember, and easy to train. Furthermore the method of training is flexible, as it can be practiced slow or fast.

As with other Qigong forms, the Ba Duan Jin helps to balance the Yin and Yang energies in the individual by regulating the Qi and the internal organs.  In addition to addressing physical and energetic imbalances, the Ba Duan Jin liberates pent-up emotions and decreases stress levels.

It is no wonder why the  Ba Duan Jin remains a cornerstone in the realm of holistic well-being.  It is easily learned by people of all ages and quickly becomes a practice you will never want to miss.

hat to expect....
